Jane Hewetson
As an artist working from my studio in the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales, I am continually fascinated by the Australian landscape. I'm particularly interested in the textures, tones and light of the Australian bush.
Through the study of leaves, branches, trunks and rocks I find delight in the intricacies and form and am enchanted by the effects of our strong Australian light as it falls upon the surfaces of the various elements of the bush. I take inspiration from these ever-changing subjects, to inform my artistic expression and through the mediums of gouache, acrylics and oils, endeavour to capture the essence of the changing hues in the nature that surrounds me.
Through my artwork, I aim to convey my love of nature and our precious environment and hope to inspire a sense of connection and a shared appreciation for the wonders of our natural environment.
